1. Change Is a Must
It’s time to break out your winter skin care routine! The cold weather is coming and it’s time to prep your skin for the changes. Before you head into the salon, here are a few tips that will help you get ready. First off, don’t forget to moisturize before bed and during the day if needed. Second, use a serum or cream with SPF in order to keep your skin from drying out due to frostbite as well as other sun related damage like wrinkles or cancer prevention. Thirdly, wear gloves when in contact with harsh chemicals so that your hands stay healthy (and then apply lotion!). Finally, don’t forget about making sure your hair gets some love before winter comes along too!
2. Pick Your Cleanser Carefully
Is winter putting a damper on your skin? It’s not too late to help your complexion recover. Take care of it now before the harsh winds and cold air permeates your pores! In the meantime, prep for what’s ahead with
Pick Your Cleanser Carefully. a 99% natural formula that is dermatologist tested and pH balanced for all skin types. The only cleanser that gently removes makeup, including waterproof products like mascara, without drying or irritating sensitive skin.
3. Exfoliate With Care
The winter season is just around the corner and your skin needs an overhaul to prepare for it! Start by using a gentle exfoliator that will not irritate the skin. Make sure you are only using this product 2-3 times a week so that your face does not get too irritated or red. Follow up with moisturizer, lip balm, and sunscreen to keep your skin healthy all winter long. I recommend trying Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion which has SPF 30 protection from UVA/UVB rays! This lotion also contains oat extract which helps provide moisturization while reducing inflammation in the skin. It’s time to prep your skin for winter, don’t forget about those lips either!!
4. Sunscreen Is a Must
Winter is coming and your skin needs to be ready! There are many ways you can prep your skin for winter. You can use a moisturizer, drink lots of water, get enough sleep, wear sunscreen on the daily…or you could come in for a facial at our salon! Our facials will help cleanse and re-hydrate your skin so that it’s winter-ready. We have great specials this month so stop by today and book an appointment with one of our aestheticians.
5. Shorten Your Showers
It’s that time of year again, when the days get shorter and colder. That means it’s time to start getting your skin ready for winter! To do this, you need to be taking shorter showers because dry air can lead to dry skin. It may seem counterintuitive but a 5 minute shower will actually keep your skin hydrated than a 15 minute one. Another tip is not only using moisturizer on your face but also on the rest of your body as well! If you have any questions about how best to prep for winter or what products might work best with these different areas of concern please feel free to leave them in the comments below 🙂
6. Sugar and Honey Scrub for Lips
The cold season is coming. The air will be dry and the temperature low. You should prepare your skin for what’s to come by exfoliating it and using a lip scrub to keep your lips in good condition. Sugar, honey, and lemon all have moisturizing properties that work wonders on chapped lips! Give this recipe a try: mix 1 tablespoon of sugar with 1 teaspoon of honey and add ½ teaspoon of lemon juice or oil (your choice). Mix together until you get a thick paste. Spread the mixture over your lips and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. This scrub will help prevent them from getting too dry as well as make them softer than ever before!
